DAY 1:
On arrival at Entebbe international airport, you will be met and received by your driver guide from Clarks Travels Limited who will then brief you as he transfers you to your hotel which is less than 10minutes from the airport. Depending on the time of arrival you might spend the afternoon at UWEC, home to captive animals and over 170 species of birds. This includes 7 species of weavers, such as the rare Northern Masked Weaver and Orange Weaver. Overnight at Laico Lake Victory Hotel. (BB)
After an early breakfast, transfer to the Eastern town of Jinja through Mabira forest and colorful road side fruit market for a full day white water rafting on Nile river. Lunch will be served on the island and proceed for last raft. On return, you will visit the source of the Nile River and proceed back to Kampala for a relaxed evening. Overnight Mt. After an early morning breakfast, you will be picked and transferred North West via Masindi town to Murchison Falls National park that allows you an en-route visit to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for rhino tracking before proceeding for a lunch break in Masindi town. On arrival at the park; you will encounter a variety of animal and bird species as you proceed to visit the top of the falls and later return to cross the Nile River to your lodge, relax into the evening, dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge (FB).
After an early morning warm up tea/coffee, you will be transferred for a game drive on the northern bank in search of animals like: lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, hartebeests, oribis, Uganda kobs, buffaloes among other animal and bird species that your guide will help you spot. This will see you return to your lodge for lunch. After lunch, transfer for a three hours boat ride on the Nile River to the bottom of the falls where you will have the opportunity to view animals like; hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks, buffaloes and elephants on the river bank . Return to your lodge for a relaxed evening, dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge. (FB)
After breakfast depart Murchison Falls and drive Southwest via the Albertine Escarpment of the Western Rift Valley through Hoima, the town of the Bunyoro Kitara kingdom where you will have your lunch. Proceeding through verdant countryside traditional homesteads and tea plantations. You will arrive in Fort Portal, the capital of the Tooro kingdom late afternoon; check into mountains of the Moon hotel. Relax at your hotel for the rest of the evening, dinner and overnight. (FB)
After an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to the Chimpanzee tracking information office for a pre-briefing by the ranger guide who will then lead you into the rain forest where you will spend most of the morning in search of chimpanzees. Kibale Forest is a spectacular jungle, with 13 primate species! Including chimps, baboons, black and white colobus, red-tailed colobus, grey cheeked mangabey and L’Hoest monkey as well as birds and butterflies. The guide will provide detailed explanations on not only primates but also on all the forest’s fauna and flora. Return to have your lunch and later transfer back to Fort portal town for a tour of this beautiful town and if time allows upon your interest, you may go and visit the famous Amabere ga Nyinamwuiru, a cultural site attached to the Tooro kingdom. Return for a relaxed evening, dinner and overnight at Mountains of the Moon Hotel.
After breakfast, transfer to Semliki for a visit to the male and female hot springs where you can optionally but some eggs and experiment by boiling them and in less than 20 minutes they will be ready for eating. Proceed to visit the pygmies-these are peaceful and friendly pygmies and you can optionally join them in their cultural performance as they entertain you and share their day to day livelihood and cultures. After an early morning breakfast, transfer for the morning birding in search of species like; the rare shoebill stork, Spot-breasted Ibis, Hartlaubs’s Duck, Chestnut-flanked Goshawk, Red-thighed Sparrowhawk, Long-tailed Hawk, Forest Francolin, Nkulengu Rail, Western Bronze-napped Pigeon, Black-collared Lovebird, Yellow-throated Cuckoo, Red-chested Owlet. Return for lunch at your lodge and relax before returning for an evening birding experience. Dinner and overnight at Ntoroko Game Lodge. (FB)
After your breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. Arriving to have lunch at your lodge, relax for the rest of the day, dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge. (FB)
After an early morning warm up tea or coffee at 6:30am, you will be transferred for a game drive along Kasenyi tracks and Queens mile in search of animals like: lions, elephants, cape buffalos, warthogs, spotted hyenas, mangoose, waterbucks, kobs and, if lucky, the leopard, and over 606 bird species recorded here, this will see you return for a full breakfast, relax into the lunch break. After lunch, you will be transferred to enjoy a unique two hours boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. This launch cruise gives you a great opportunity for photography, bird watching and game viewing at close range. Return for an easy evening, dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge. (FB
After breakfast, transfer to Bwindi via the Ishasha sector of the tree climbing lions for an en route game drive in search of these great cats and if you’re lucky, may come across them (However, this will depend on the road condition to Ishasha at the time of visit otherwise if the road is impassable then you may have to go via Ishaka as your driver guide will advice) Dinner and overnight at Ruhija Gorilla Lodge (FB).
After an early morning breakfast at 7:45am, you will be transferred to the gorilla tracking information office for a pre-briefing by the park rangers who will then lead you into the forest trekking this great relatives of ours (Mountain gorillas). The rainforest is dense and is crisscrossed by numerous animal trails. The thrill of spending time and observing the gorillas as they interact with each other is a memorable one. After this day’s gorgeous adventure, you will return for lunch (if not parked), relax and freshen up at your lodge and later depending on your interest, transfer for a short community walk to see these local people’s way of life and cultures or better still relax at your lodge for the rest of the day/evening. After an early morning breakfast, transfer for a game drive in search of the beautiful impalas, zebras, cape buffalos, elands, oribi, topis among other animal and bird species that your guide will help you spot. Return to your lodge for lunch, after lunch transfer to enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Mburo’s numerous lakes. The park is a very ideal place for bird watchers, who will enjoy more than 250 species of birds found here. If time allows, you will take a free walk to the local communities. After your breakfast, depart Lake Mburo via Masaka that allows you a brief stopover at the Equator to perform a simple experiment and experience a tropical balance before proceeding to have your lunch in Kampala before transferring you to your hotel for a relaxed evening, dinner and overnight at Serena Lake Victoria Resort. On this day, you will relax at your hotel for the rest of the day and in the evening you will be transferred to the airport to catch your flight back home.
